Objectives

This work package (WP4000) defines and prepares the implementation strategy for the GOVSATCOM forecasting demonstrator. Building on the verified models from WP3000, it establishes the technical specifications, integration plan, and test framework required for the deployment of a working prototype. The demonstrator will serve as proof of AI-enabled bandwidth forecasting, integrating both software components and operational evaluation criteria.

  • The main technical objectives of WP4000 -- Verification and implementation plan for the demonstrator are:

  • Objective 1: Define technical specifications for the demonstrator. CTTC, in collaboration with EUTELSAT, translates the verified model designs into an executable demonstrator architecture, ensuring that all relevant interfaces, inputs, and expected outputs are clearly defined.

  • Objective 2: Provide evidence of demonstrator compliance assessment. Documentation is developed to demonstrate that the chosen architecture enables meaningful compliance testing, linking back to the requirements established in WP1000 and WP3000.

  • Objective 3: Produce the detailed design of the demonstrator. This includes all structural, algorithmic, and data handling components necessary to replicate, monitor, and test the AI-based forecasting solution in an operational context.

  • Objective 4: Deliver an implementation plan. The team defines a clear roadmap for setting up, executing, and evaluating the demonstrator, including technical deployment steps, software modules, data pipelines, and monitoring layers.

  • Objective 5: Establish the test and verification plan. A formal validation strategy is defined to verify that the demonstrator meets its functional and performance goals under real or simulated GOVSATCOM traffic scenarios.
