Objectives

This work package (WP6000) concludes the AI-GOVSATCOM project by evaluating the commercial viability and exploitation potential of the developed AI-based forecasting solutions. It assesses the benefits, limitations, and technology readiness level (TRL) of the final deliverables and proposes a roadmap for adoption in operational satellite systems, particularly within the GOVSATCOM context.

  • The main technical objectives of WP6000 – Commercial exploitation assessment are:

  • Objective 1: Evaluate the technical and commercial value of the forecasting solution. CTTC and EUTELSAT assess the outcomes of previous WPs, focusing on key indicators such as performance gains, prediction consistency, operational benefits, and potential for integration in real-world GOVSATCOM workflows.

  • Objective 2: Determine the achieved Technology Readiness Level (TRL). The project defines the maturity of the AI forecasting demonstrator and models by mapping their capabilities to ESA TRL scales, validating them against practical deployment conditions.

  • Objective 3: Identify exploitation paths and future steps. Concrete steps toward commercial exploitation are outlined, including system integration options, regulatory and operational requirements, and collaboration with institutional and industrial stakeholders.

  • Objective 4: Deliver final acceptance and roadmap. A formal review consolidates the project’s achievements, culminating in the acceptance of final deliverables, the delivery of a development roadmap, and recommendations for further development and deployment.
